Sent working phone, two weeks later only had 75% of the value (£99) credited onto the gift card, emailed and was told to check again after friday! Checked again, still not the full balance, then they decided to tell me that it turned up in less than perfect condition. Then they said £86 by email, then dropped it to £80 and have still not confirmed what I have been offered. I am currently getting in touch with trading standards. THE MORE PEOPLE EXPOSE THESE CROOKS, THE LESS PEOPLE WILL GET RIPPED OFF! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

SELLER BEWARE
quoted £99, got email, touchscreen not working (was either stylus missing or I had a pin lock for screen???) only told to send phone & battery offered to send stylus, never answered, no lock on screen, had even recalibrated!!!
was offered £22, declined and complained (took an hour to get through... they were busy) was then re-inspected, would only offer £80, or £10 to get returned, would have lost MORE money, also 3 days .. is a crock, took 3 days for them to receive and inspect (was delivered next day) then 3 days for bacs which then takes 2 more days .... NEVER EVER AGAIN!!!

Avoid this company at all costs - they will not give you the price they quote, will charge you to return your phone and then never send the phone. At least research this company a little on review sites and you will see the number of people complaining about them. Find a reputable company - even if they are not quoting the highest amount, it will work out more in the long run.

Exactly the same as Bob from Leeds. Quoted £99 for handset, received an email this morning saying that there were white dots on the screen so it was now only being valued at £24. Called them, waited on hold for 15 minutes and now have to wait 24hours for them to re-evaluate their valuation. If they decide the valuation is correct it will cost £10 to be returned. Postage when sent was under £5. Glad I got it sent guaranteed as if it is actually damaged it must have been damaged in the post. (despite sending it in its leather case in a padded jiffy bag) My advice - go for a more reputable company. It may be valued slightly less at first, but it’s not worth the hassle dealing with a company which is nothing more than a cowboy academy.

i recently sent them a apple iphone 16gb 3gs brand new in box unopened and was quoted £291 for it .i sent it on friday 5/05/2010 special delivery and they say they never recieved it til the 10/02/2010 as of course there was a weekend inbetween.they accpeted the phone as new and not damaged and sent me a email on 10/02/2010 say that payment will be made via bacs on 15/02/2010 ..i was surprised as why i had to wait an extra 3 days for them to make payment as it did state on there website payment within 3 days upon reciept of phone so i emailed them and they say it was a 3 day period in which customers could request a new price or ask for the phone to be returned so they put it in place..which is a fair option i suppose..i await payment to arrive this weds i hope...i hav eused them in dec 2009 and recieved prompt payment as welll i would defo recommend this company to anyone....

After reading good and bad reviews about all phone recycling companies I decided to go with Mobile Phone Xchange. I went for the freepost option and was delighted with the service I received. They received the phone and sent me my giftcard with the correct credit very quickly. I would use this company again.
Jayne from Whitehaven rated Mobile Phone Xchange 5/5 on February 12, 2010
Sent me an email claiming the phone was damaged (which it wasn't) and they were going to pay less. After 10 mins waiting on the phone (on a premium rate 0844 number) because they were experiencing "very high call volumes" (rubbish). They immediately reported they had re-evaluated it and would now pay the full amount. Obviously just trying it on to maximise profits. Disgraceful business practice. Won't use them again.
